ABA Journal continues "Work/Life Balance" coverage
The ABA Journal's Question of the Week this week focuses on "work/life balance," asking "What's your personal work/life balance, right now—and are you happy with it? How many hours have you worked in the last seven days? How many of the last seven days have you taken off from work? Is this typical?"
I'll be following the answers posted on the ABA Journal website and their Facebook page, and I'm interested to see if responders speak of "priorities" and "sacrifices" as has been the theme thus far.
The ABA Journal points to an article by work/life balance consultant Cindy Krischer Goodman that profiles Florida attorney Yolanda Cash Jackson, who Goodman describes as a "Workaholic but having fun" on her blog. Jackson lives her passion of advocating for minorities and helping younger women learn how to network. She says her "work and social life are intertwined." Goodman notes that Jackson is able to cope with a grueling schedule because she is "110 percent immersed in something she finds meaningful."
I encourage everyone to weigh in on the ABA Journal's Question of the Week. My work-life balance right now involves welcoming a new baby any day, but I will post a follow-up to the responses soon.
