The Path to Launch

There is an old joke: how do you make God laugh? Tell her your plans. Well, she must be rolling on the floor when she reads our earlier plans.
When we left Asheville, we expected to be on the road for about three months. It didn't quite work out that way. We took our first trip on May 15 and returned at the end of October and stayed in town for the election. We had an amazing trip and I wrote about only a fraction of our adventures here. (Sorry.) The interviews were moving, the people we interviewed were inspiring and affirmed the mission of the site. Along the way, we also visited 15 national parks and monuments.
I had another health crisis in November. The branchial cyst got infected again. I decided that having gills wasn't all it was cut out to be and had them removed in January. In between the second hospital stay and the surgery, we were able to work in Florida. Michael went off to St. Petersburg and I went to be with my family in Kissimmee for about a month. I can't adequately express my gratitude for all the support I received during this time. Investors stepped forward to support our project. People opened their homes and hearts. It was a blessed time.
Though delayed by the health issues, we've continued to work on the site. I've been learning more Drupal from many generous teachers. Michael has been editing some of the many hours of video. I've spent several days sitting with experts who have been helping me with the various functions that will organize the copious content and allow for social and professional profiles, social networking, and many other features.
Launch is around the corner.....really. Meanwhile, there is enough content to keep you entertained while we're at work. Stay tuned!
