Rainbow Connections
Yesterday my world was abuzz with rainbows, so much so that I wouldn't have been surprised to see one spontaneously pop up in the clear blue sky. When life rhymes like this, I like to notice the associations I make to the topic. Of course my first association to rainbows is the 7 Purposes wellness model. I use a rainbow to visualize the Purposes, because just like a prism refracts light into the visible spectrum, the Purposes refract our whole self for better viewing.
Another association that comes to mind, especially this time of year, is from my vacation to Alaska five years ago. One of the excursions was a float trip through the Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve. When we set out, it was a gray, rainy day, but soon a space opened in the sky and the sun broke through. It was perfect rainbow weather, and sure enough a vibrant double rainbow appeared. We seemed to be chasing the end of the rainbow down the river - at one bend, it appeared that we were close enough to touch it. The pot of gold turned out to be fresh bear and moose tracks in the mud along the edge of the river.
Today I'm going to be on the lookout for my pot of gold. After all the rainbows yesterday, I'm sure to find it.
