Our goal this year is for every member of the House of Representatives to attend a Drug Court graduation during National Drug Court Commencement Week, May 16-20.

The National Drug Court Institute, with support from the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), is offering this advanced training to teach effective techniques for treating and supervising methamphetamine addicts. Your Drug Court team will learn to identify and understand the unique challenges of working with methamphetamine addicts and apply science-based methods to effectively treat and supervise them.

Are you a Prosecutor new to Drug Court? Are you an experienced Drug Court Prosecutor looking for training specific to your role? Look no further. The National Drug Court Institute (NDCI) is offering its four day Prosecutor Training Program for new or seasoned Drug Court Prosecutors.
This training will cover the specific role and responsibility of Prosecutors in Drug Court. It will provide insight into drug and alcohol users, abusers and addicts and cover topics such as Incentives and Sanctions and Screening Participants.

NPR highlights drug court solutions
From National Association of Drug Court Professionals: June 18, 2010: National Public Radio ran a story on the efforts to reduce America's drug addiction. NPR spoke with Joseph Califano, founder and chairman of the National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia University, about the appetite for drugs in the U.S. and what's being done to curb it. Drug Courts were specifically highlighted as an important solution.

White House Drug Policy Director Honors National Drug Court Month
WASHINGTON-Citing the success of drug courts in helping people restore their lives through treatment and other social services, R. Gil Kerlikowske, Director of National Drug Control Policy, today paid tribute to the observance of May as National Drug Court Month. Director Kerlikowske lauded the drug court system as a model of the kind of collaborative, evidence-based and effective approaches the Nation must embrace to reduce drug use and its consequences.
