International Peacebuilding Summit
We were asked to pass on information about this event:
MBB is hoping to have your assistance sending this forward to the ADR community. If you no longer administer your listserves, would you please forward to those in your organization who do, all professors in law or grad programs would be great as well.
We have several goals for this event and now is the time that we need for you to help us publish this widely via email lists. Ken Cloke has put together an amazing group of international powerhouses for this dialogue in Denver July 14th. If you have interest in conflict resolution, mediation, arbitration, diplomacy, peacebuilding, politics, or international affairs this is a must. The lead facilitator will be Peter Adler of the Keystone Foundation. This letter is also attached to this email if you want to use it to grab text or send it forth. Thank you so much for helping us spread the word, lets send forth to all listservs if you would please. Questions? I leave the country for the rest of the month on Friday, so in my stead Ken can answer questions. firstname.lastname@example.org Best, Nan
I am writing to invite you to what promises to be a unique, incredible, and exciting event MBB is initiating this summer. On July 14, 2010, we will hold our first annual International Peacebuilding Summit at Regis University in Denver, Colorado, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm, to which you are cordially invited.
An all-star cast of highly experienced speakers will attend, including:
* Peter Adler, Director of the Keystone Institute
* Ken Cloke, President of Mediators Beyond Borders
* Ambassador John McDonald, Head of the Institute for Multi-Track Diplomacy
* Jamil Mahuad, former President of Ecuador
* Bernie Mayer, Author and Professor at Creighton University
* Chris Moore, President of CDR Associates
* Selena Sermeño, Professor of Constructive Engagement of Conflict, Global University
* Ray Shonholtz, President of Partners for Democratic Change
* Anna Spain, Professor of International Law and Dispute Resolution at the University of Colorado School of Law
We envision the Summit as a kind of “Aspen Institute” for global peacebuilding. All of the speakers have decades of significant experience in international conflict resolution, and will be coming together to engage in dialogue with each other and with the participants regarding the lessons they have learned and the best ways of building conflict resolution capacity in diverse cultures.
Our idea is not to have formal presentations and speeches, but engaging conversations, discussions and dialogues between people with experience working international. We have kept the fee for the conference at only $50.00, with a 10% discount for MBB members, or $15.00 for students in order to encourage you to attend. Here is a link you can use to register – but be sure and sign up soon, as space is limited. email@example.com I hope you can come and join us, and look forward to seeing you there.
