The New Lawyer Tour
The New Lawyer Tour is an exciting project that aims to document and celebrate lawyers whose work distinguishes them as pioneers and innovators in peacemaking and champions of justice.
Publisher Kim Wright and Videographer Michael Matthews have already traveled in several states and have conducted dozens of interviews with interesting, inspiring lawyers who are leaders and innovators. Some of these interviews are interspersed into this web site but most are still in the process of editing. To get a sampling of what we're doing, visit our channel on www.youtube.com/cuttingedgelaw. As this site develops, there will be better descriptions of each interview and a way to sort them.
We have visited several law schools and connected with key members of the Humanizing Legal Education group - which was recently recognized and validated by being named as a section of the American Association of Law Schools.
Kim has begun to blog about the tour and when the site is fully operational, we’ll be issuing press releases and creating buzz along the way. We expect to enroll a number of bloggers on different topics to add to the content. And, of course, we aim to sign up subscribers, sponsors, and organizational partners.
Since we’re already filming, we’re also laying the groundwork to turn our film into a one-hour documentary. We intend to distribute this documentary to law schools nationwide as well as to major media outlets, spreading the seeds of the ideas in yet another way.
All this is a part of the bigger mission of the magazine and movement. We're showcasing lawyers who are making this movement happen and providing role models and educational material for the New Lawyer.
