Energy Healing
IAHL Article of the Month: Journey into Grouppeace by Jill Dahlquist
Every month IAHL highlights a gem from its archive as the Article of the Month. For September, we pulled out "Journey into Grouppeace" by Jill Dahlquist.
When I first walked into the Inner Focus Advanced Energy Healing School in 1995, I was looking for help. Past injuries were not healing well. I often felt ungrounded and emotionally buffeted. I had tried several different therapies and had been on anti-depressants for a little while, but nothing was “fixing the problem”.
Law and Energy Medicine
About ten years ago, I started to explore energy medicine (aka energy healing) which includes a wide range of modalities from reiki to massage to the work of Barbara Brennan to acupuncture to qi dao and a wide range of other examples. As I began to learn about these many different ideas, I began to meet lawyers who were also exploring this interdisciplinary approach to healing. Many of them told me that they'd come to energy medicine from an interest in lawyers as healers. Others were interested in the subtleties of energetic engagement in mediation. Some were seeking their own healing.
Within a short time, I knew dozens of lawyers who were studying energy medicine and I began to expect that there was more than coincidence at work.
What impressed me most was that these lawyers were so grounded (while many of the other people I came across were not). There was reason balanced with intuition and a healthy dose of skepticism mixed with practical experience.
