Arbinger Hires Retiring Judge Memmott
Today's Salt Lake City Tribune reports the retirement of pioneering Judge Jon Memmott:
Memmott, 63, retired from the bench on May 1, but he's still seeing the results of his work -- in sometimes unexpected places.
He was sitting in a dentist's chair, mouth agape, a few weeks back, when he noticed that the woman assisting the dentist had begun to cry. "She told me that her sister had graduated from my drug court about eight years ago," Memmott said. "She said, 'I want to tell you how well she's doing -- she's doing great. And she still has the graduation certificate hanging above her bed in her bedroom.' "
