Judge Goes to Bat for Drug Court
Where I have lived, judges tend to be very careful about getting political (outside their own races). This story is an exception. District Judge Robin Malone Darr went to the Midland County Commission to block raising the rent on the drug court facilities there.

Excerpt: She showed slides to illustrate the CRTC's employment of 25 people and annual enrollment of 100 clients, an average of 77 of whom graduate after three months of rehabilitation and a three month work phase.
Darr said they "would be in jail," which Sheriff Gary Painter said would cost the county $61 a day for each one, without the program.
