Judge Makes 180 Degree Turn on Drug Courts

Excerpt: When he first heard about Treatment Court 11 years ago, Gallatin County Judge Mike Salvagni admits he thought it was too expensive, too touchy-feeling and that it wouldn't work. Now, he's one of its biggest advocates.
The program helps those convicted of crimes kick their drug and alcohol addictions and it was recognized Friday with a graduation ceremony and reception in Salvagni's courtroom.
"After sitting here for 10 years, I have come 180 degrees from where I was," Salvagni said. "I have witnessed awesome changes in people's lives,"
