NJ Drug Court Graduations
COURT HOUSE — The Superior Court of New Jersey, Atlantic/Cape May Vicinage, will conduct two drug court graduation ceremonies, on Tuesday, March 24 and Wednesday, March 25.
The Cape May County ceremony will be held on March 25 at 11 a.m. in courtroom D of Cape May County Superior Court, 9 North Main St., Cape May Courthouse. Two participants will graduate and eight will commence into the final phase.
According to a release, the Atlantic County ceremony will be held on March 24 at 1 p.m. in the jury assembly room on the first floor of the Atlantic County Courthouse, 4997 Unami Blvd., Mays Landing. Eight participants will graduate from the five-year program, and another eight will “commence” into the fourth and final phase.
Superior Court Judge Susan F. Maven, drug court judge for the Atlantic/Cape May Vicinage, will preside over both events. The keynote address at both ceremonies will be delivered by Donna and James Beerman, owners and operators of Bright New Horizons, a “sober living” facility.
“We are very proud of our graduates, who have struggled and fought to reach this critical point in their recovery process,” said Judge Maven. “We will be celebrating not only their success in dealing with their addictions, but the progress they have made toward rebuilding their self-confidence, strengthening their personal relationships and achieving their educational and employment goals.” Through drug court, they have found a renewed sense of purpose and responsibility for their own lives.”
