Tulsa Director, Rose Ewing, Named to National Drug Court Hall of Fame
In 1998, Ewing received a law degree from the University of Tulsa."It's great to have a job to go to each day and see a need or gap and help create a new response that involves the court," she said. "I find it fascinating to be at the point where the court system and social issues come together. I can use both sides of my professional experience.
"People makes mistakes and they come to that place. They do self-identify with the arrest. But that arrest becomes a strong intervention point. It gives us an opportunity to work with them to give solutions to change their lives, possibly avoid prison and improve their relationships."
